December 30, 2020. John McCrae’s famous wartime poem, “In Flanders Fields,” resonates many years after it was first written — and not only in the English language. Vita Shtivelman, an immigrant to Canada, discovered that the poem has a special appeal in multiple languages. Through an award-winning project, Vita is promoting translations of the poem in all of the world’s languages in a unique collection. The power of “In Flanders Fields” continues to surprise.
