Coast to Coast with Renato Zane – National Covid Special
Since the Covid-19 virus became a global pandemic, life has changed significantly for all of us. As we practice physical distancing, self-isolation, or even quarantine, we continue searching for ways to retain our connections, our care of family and loved ones; for ways to keep our businesses alive. But we also search for ways to continue celebrating our culture, to find some sense of normalcy while we wait for the storm to pass.
The collective anxiety and sense of fear is amplified especially by the news of the toll of the pandemic on the people of Italy, and our thoughts go out to those who are bearing this heavy burden, not only there but here in Canada and around the world.
The daily news provides the updates, facts and figures on this dangerous virus. The purpose of our show, however, is not to repeat those headlines. Instead, what we will do in this special program is reach out and hear from Italian Canadians, coast-to-coast, starting in British Columbia and deliberately moving eastward all the way to Nova Scotia. We will explore how communities are coping, and focus on the good things that are emerging from this collective challenge we are facing. As you will hear, the connecting threads are the deep and strong cultural roots that bind us all together as Canadians and Italians. There is still a lot to celebrate despite the health crisis.
Please join us as we take a look behind the scenes at how our community is meeting the challenge, coast-to-coast.
